This Mark of the Ninja trailer is full of ninjas and... Ninja Gaiden boxart?

To celebrate Mark of the Ninja's release, Klei Entertainment has produced a never before seen trailer that gives a little background to the premise of the game. Something about ninjas and a toxin in a plant that gives you superpowers. While that's totally rad, I'm having a hard time averting my eyes from that striking Ninja Gaiden photo. Yeah, you should definitely check this game out.

Top 20 games of E3 2012 we want revealed but never will be

E3 comes around every year, affixing its unshakable grasp on gamers everywhere. It's hard not to get excited as this is the convention where all the major titles and surprises are usually revealed. Of course, that means everything you're expecting and totally unsuspecting could jump out at any time, you just never know.

But what about the games you've always wanted to be revealed? I'm not talking about your current Gears of War or Uncharted sequels, I'm talking titles from the forgotten crypts of the industry. Games who've been lost to time, poor sales, or just never were fully explored. These are the 20 games we'd love to see announced at E3, but know that despite wishing as hard as we can, will never, ever actually happen.

Six good reasons why Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos needs a remake

We've already investigated what would make the next Ninja Gaiden awesome, but what about the one after that? Curse us for thinking ahead, but everybody knows the Ninja Gaiden franchise isn't even close to being finished. What does the future hold for this blood-soaked jewel? I'm not quite sure, but recreating 1990's Dark Sword of Chaos of NES fame would be a start.

Back in the day, when wireless devices were considered black magic demonry and controllers only had two main buttons, Ninja Gaiden was something of an anomaly. It was one of the first real games to include cut-scenes to tell its story and, besides being frustrating as all hell, it was quite a lot of fun to play. When the second game sprung up, it enhanced practically everything and gave us some of the more memorable abilities, monsters, and music Ninja Gaiden is known for today. Basically, The Dark Sword of Chaos is the definitive old-school Ninja Gaiden, and if you had to choose one title to represent the pinnacle of the series - this would be it.
