The Indie Affliction: Expeditions: Conquistador MASSIVE hour long presentation

With an exorbitant amount of projects appearing on Kickstarter as of late, it can be a bit of a chore to sort through all the legitimate products and the husks of junk. Expeditions: Conquistador is a gem amongst the tons of games present and it revives old-school turn-based gameplay with a little historical spin on things. Never heard of it? Enter our hour long, comprehensive gameplay demonstration with the main gameplay designer from Logic Artists present!

Expeditions: Conquistador gameplay with Jonas of Logic Artists

Choosing your specific statistics, hiring your own team, promoting experienced followers, permanent death, glancing blows, flanking maneuvers, diplomatic encounters, exploration, multiple endings, Expeditions: Conquistador is deceptively deep. Having been a rabid fan of the turn-based games of yore, seeing Logic Artists craft something with a fresh take on the formula makes me excited all over again. Not just because I get to play another one of those turn-based games no one's heard of, but because they're going back to the core mechanics that helped define contemporary gaming.

Here's the artists who depict themselves as logical. See what I did there?

It's clear Logic Artists have put a lot of work into this title and they plan on supporting it even more when it's slated to release early next year. Head over to their Kickstarter page and donate what you can to help them reach their goal. With under four days left, we need to help support developers who understand what it takes to make a seminal title.
