Metal Gear Solid HD digital editions get a release date

In a Metal Gear Solid driven day, Konami has just made it a bit more exciting. Come the end of August, gamers waiting for the digital release of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection will collectively rejoice. However, you'll have to wait a bit longer to play Peace Walker.
In a report sent out today by Konami, the release schedule for the digital version of MGS HD is as follows:

August 21st:
•METAL GEAR SOLID 2: SONS OF LIBERTY - HD Edition (PS Vita)
•METAL GEAR SOLID 3: SNAKE EATER - HD Edition (PS Vita)
•METAL GEAR SOLID 2: SONS OF LIBERTY - HD Edition (PS3)
•METAL GEAR SOLID 3: SNAKE EATER - HD Edition (PS3)
•METAL GEAR SOLID - HD Collection – MGS2 + MGS3 (X360) – Games On Demand release

August 28th:
•METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER (PS3)
•METAL GEAR SOLID: PEACE WALKER (X360) – Games on Demand Release
•METAL GEAR SOLID - HD Collection Bundle – MGS2+3+PW (PS3)

In case you didn't catch it, the Xbox 360 version of MGS HD will not be splitting up its entries ala the PS3 version. If you're an Xbox 360 owner and you want Peace Walker, you're going to have to purchase it separately from MGS2 and MGS3. Whereas the PS3 version offers buyers a little more freedom, if they so choose.

Snake, what happened? You didn't like Peace Walker? Snake!? SNAAAAAAAKE!

Is it a big deal? Hardly; but having that extra freedom is nice for the people who maybe only want to play MGS3 again. Hey, I get it.

Psst! Also, if you didn't already hear, the patch which implements trophies into Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is live. Fire it up!
